Dr Jing Xian (Alvin) Quah

Dr. Alvin Quah is a heart specialist (consultant cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist) who works at Windsor Heart, Western Heart, and Integral Health. He focuses on heart rhythm problems.

He treats these with:

• Ablation – for conditions like supraventricular tachycardia, atrial fibrillation (AF), flutter, ventricular tachycardia, and premature ventricular contractions

• Device implants – including pacemakers, defibrillators, CRT, and leadless pacemakers​

He also looks after general heart conditions like heart risk checks, coronary artery disease, and heart failure. He is known for being empathetic and patient-centred, and he works hard to give all patients fair and timely access to care.

Dr. Quah graduated from the University of Queensland. He trained in cardiology at Sunshine Coast University Hospital and Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. He then did a fellowship in electrophysiology and a PhD at Flinders Medical Centre, supported by scholarships from the National Heart Foundation and Flinders University.

He also completed a two-year fellowship in Halifax, Canada, and worked as a visiting electrophysiologist in the Cairns Base Hospital

In December 2025, he was awarded his PhD from Flinders University. His research developed a new way to measure and understand atrial fibrillation 

He has co-authored over 35 scientific papers, presented at international conferences, and in the past three years has performed more than 400 ablations and over 500 device implants.
